Bhavani Prakash - Traditional World Music of India
Bhavani has studied Carnatic vocal music, veena and flute from several great masters of traditional Indian music. She is a much sought after teacher as well. An amazing veena player, she has several awards, titles and honors to her credit, notably the All India Radio National Award when she was only 17 years old, the Best Concert award from Sri Krishna Gaana Sabha, Chennai, and the Ambujam Krishnan Award from the Madras Music Academy. She has learned from many eminent Gurus such as Dr. N. Ramani and Sangeetacharya Smt. Suguna Varadachari (teacher of teachers) in Chennai after learning from other Gurus earlier. A concert artist from the age of 12, Dr. Bhavani has performed over 1000 times in India, USA, Canada and Singapore.
